Switzerland

A small country that is very very very clean and orderly with beautiful snow capped mountains (not much snow this year- a complication of global warming of course), pristine lakes, old architecture, and, most of all, super friendly people. We started the Switzerland part of our trip in Basel: we really enjoyed our one night stay at the Hotel Euler Basel. Of course, very friendly staff who actually complimented my I very limited German! Proud proud! We then stayed one night in Lucerne- a magnificent little town with its beautiful lake and river scene. Our stay in Hotel Münzgasse was comfortable and relaxing. The next day, we took the train to Interlaken (by the way Eurorail pass is soo worth it). After spending sometime in Interlaken and absorbing its magnificent lake views, we continued to Montreux where we stayed at Hotel Grand Excelsior right by the Lake Geneva for two night. Let me tell you, waking up to that amazing view was a one of a kind experience and the historic hotel was a delight. All and all, we loved Switzerland; her magnificent nature and strikingly peaceful atmosphere. Who knows, maybe one day a move to this side of the pond will be in order 😀
